Police searching for gunman after woman shot on West Side, police say

The shooting happened in the 4000 block of El Paso Street

SAN ANTONIO – A person is on the run after shooting at a West Side residence and injuring a woman inside, San Antonio police said.

Officers responded to the shooting around 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 4000 block of El Paso Street.

According to police, a person outside shot toward the residence and struck a woman in the hand while she was sitting inside.

The shooter fled from the scene, police said. A motive for the shooting is currently unknown.

The woman, 62, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Additional information was not immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
