Everidge, who is from San Antonio, grew up going to the Witte, which sparked her interest and love for museums and history.

“The Witte has shaped who I am, and I am deeply committed to its mission of inspiring people to shape the future of Texas.,” Everidge said.

Everidge holds a doctorate degree from the University of Delaware, a Master of Arts degree from Parsons School of Design, and an AB from Princeton University.

Fifteen years ago, she joined the Witte as a grant writer. Her work spanned from fundraising and finance to curatorial and collections and inquiry-based pedagogy. Her latest role with the museum was deputy director.

According to a release from the Witte, Everidge spearheaded transformative initiatives such as the acclaimed “Black Cowboys: An American Story” exhibition and the 2024 Conference on Texas.

Everidge also serves on the Executive Committee of the Texas Association of Museums.

Looking ahead to the future, Everidge’s announcement as president and CEO comes one year before the Witte celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The centennial will include a year of celebrations featuring community-wide events and exhibitions.

“I look forward to building on the foundational work of Marise McDermott and Dirk Elmendorf to ensure the Witte continues to serve as a center for curiosity, discovery and transformation for generations to come,” Everidge said.
