Hello! This month sure went by in the blink of an eye.

If you haven’t had a chance to attend the Kerrville Renaissance Festival, it will be in the Hill Country for the last time this weekend.

With the start of the month on Saturday, San Antonians can officially start thinking about the rodeo.

The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo will kick off the season with the Western Parade & Cattle Drive downtown.

Also happening this weekend is the month-long celebration of Black History Month. Several events will take place in the Alamo City to celebrate the rich contributions of African Americans to the city and nation.

  • LES MISERABLES: The Tony Award-winning musical will take the Majestic Theatre stage from Jan. 31 until Feb. 2. Tickets are available online.
  • KERRVILLE RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL: The Kerrville Renaissance Festival will take place between Feb. 1-2. The celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at River Star Arts and Events Park, located at 3785 TX-27 in Kerrville. Click here for more information.
  • MARDI GRAS FESTIVAL: Six Flags Fiesta Texas will bring its 9th annual Mardi Gras Festival through selected dates until March 16. Attendees can enjoy from a parade to delicious Mardi Gras-themed food. More information can be found online.
  • SAN ANTONIO SPURS: The NBA team will play against the Milwaukee Bucks at 7 p.m. on Jan. 31. The San Antonio Spurs will also compete against the Miami Heat at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 1. Both games will be played at the Frost Bank Center.
  • WESTERN HERITAGE WEEKEND: The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo will kick off the 2025 season this weekend. The parade will start at 11 a.m. on Feb. 1. KSAT will livestream the festivities in this article. The Vaquero Cook-Off will also take place this weekend. Click here for more details.
  • WINTER RESTAURANT WEEKS: The Culinaria biannual event will continue until Feb. 1. Click here for a list of participating restaurants serving up three-course menus for brunch, lunch and dinner.

Friday, Jan. 31

  • LATIN MAFIA: The pop band will perform at the Boeing Center Tech Port at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online.

Saturday, Feb. 1

  • FLIX AT LA CANTERA: The Rock at La Cantera will host a free movie screening of “Remember the Titans” at 5 p.m.
  • MARKET DAYS: Visit the Pearl for Farmers Market every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop for local produce and meat. The Pearl is located at 303 Pearl Pkwy.
  • WALK ON THE RIVER: Attendees can get a chance to watch two unique films that explore the rich history and invaluable contributions of African American people to the city. The event will start at 5 p.m. at Rebel Church, located at 15909 San Pedro Ave, Suite 105. For more information and tickets, click here.

Sunday, Feb. 2

  • FREE YOGA SESSION: The Good Kind will host a free yoga session from 10-11 a.m. every Sunday.
  • LUNAR NEW YEAR EVENT: Celebrate the year of the snake at the Pearl at its Lunar New Year event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pearl Park. The celebration will include a dragon dance, calligraphy lessons and more.
  • SAPL BLACK HISTORY MONTH FILM SERIES: The San Antonio Public Library will host a movie screening of “Drumline” from 3-5 p.m. at Encino Library. Seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. The library is located at 2515 E. Evans Road.
  • BRISCOE WESTERN ART MUSEUM: Locals can get free entry for Locals Day on the first Sunday of each month.
