SEGUIN, Texas – A Seguin Independent School District student was arrested and accused of bringing narcotics onto an elementary campus, according to the Seguin Police Department.
School administrators notified officers on Wednesday morning that drugs were brought to Jefferson Elementary School.

Upon arrival, an officer was presented with a small, clear bag containing a white substance found in a classroom, according to Seguin police.
With the help of school administrators, the officer identified a girl as the person who brought the substance to school, police said.
Authorities conducted a field test, which confirmed the substance was cocaine hydrochloride, Seguin police said.
The student, whose age is unknown, was detained and transported to the Guadalupe County Juvenile Facility.
She was charged with possession of a substance in penalty group 1 in a drug-free zone, police said.

Dear Jefferson Families,
We want to inform you of an incident that occurred on campus to ensure transparency and reinforce our commitment to student safety. Today, a student discovered a small quantity of a controlled substance, later identified as cocaine, inside a desk. The student immediately reported it to school staff, and law enforcement was contacted.
A thorough investigation was conducted, and the individual responsible for bringing the substance to school was identified. Appropriate disciplinary actions have been taken per school policy and the law.
This serves as a reminder of the importance of discussing the dangers of drugs with our children and encouraging them to report any concerning situations to an adult.
