SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Botanical Garden is celebrating 45 years in the Alamo City with the announcement of Phase I of their Strategic Master Plan.

The plan will focus on revitalizing the Garden’s horticulture campus with new educational and immersive spaces, including the development of a pollinator meadow at the heart of the Garden.

The goal is to enhance visitor experience, expand conservation efforts and create a lasting impact on the local community.

“As we reflect on 45 years of growth, our mission remains the same—to create a space where people can connect with nature, learn about the environment, and experience the beauty of the natural world,” said San Antonio Botanical Garden President and CEO Katherine Trumble. “The next phase of our journey will build on our strong foundation and chart an exciting course forward.”

The new plan was designed in partnership with Reed Hilderbrand.

The Garden will also host new exhibitions this year.

The first, “Orchids: Colorburst” will be on display Feb. 1 through March 31. Another exhibition, “Reflections of Nature,” will be on display March 8 through Oct. 27.

In 2024, the Garden engaged over 25,000 school children, 13,000 annual members and over 900 educational programs.
