SAN ANTONIO – Grammy Award-winning musical artist Flaco Jimenez is back home and “on the road to recovery” after his recent hospitalization, according to an update shared on his social media.
Jimenez was taken to the hospital on Jan. 12 after “facing a medical hurdle,” according to his Facebook.
On Sunday, the San Antonio native’s Facebook announced he has been home and is “doing well.” However, it’s unclear how long the Tejano accordionist was hospitalized.

“Happy Sunday, Flaco fans! We apologize for the delay in updates. Flaco has been home, doing well and on the road to recovery. A huge thank you to all for the prayers, love and continued support. Have a great week!”
The 85-year-old is known for his many achievements in Tejano music. One of his albums, “Partners,” was selected for the U.S. Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry in 2021.
The Library of Congress called Jimenez “a champion of traditional conjunto music and Tex-Mex culture who also is known for innovation and collaboration with a variety of artists.”
According to the Grammy Awards website, he has won six Grammys, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.
