Arson suspected in duplex fire on East Side, SAFD says

The fire caused at least $50K in damage inside the duplex

The San Antonio Fire Department suspects that a fire at a duplex on Monday morning may have been intentionally set.

The fire happened just after 8 a.m. at a duplex in the 2300 Block of East Crockett Street, near the Frost Bank Center.

SAFD officials said the structure was in the process of being remodeled. No one was inside at the time of the fire.

Arson investigators are now looking into the fire because the back door to the duplex was open.

The fire caused at least $50,000 in damage inside the duplex.
