The City of San Antonio is opening six overnight resilience hubs for community members who need shelter from the cold beginning Monday night.
The hubs will open at 6 p.m. Monday. They are designed to be accessible and equitable facilities where people in need can access essential resources and information during the cold snap we will experience.

TIMELINE: Cold today, wintry weather tonight
These hubs will provide basic needs and supplies, shelter, access to power and device charging and free Wi-Fi, according to a news release from the city.
Anyone planning to stay overnight at one of the hubs should bring clothes and medicine. Kennels will be available for pets in a separate area.

- Southside Lions Senior Center - 3303 Pecan Valley, 78210
- Normoyle Senior Center - 700 Culberson, 78225
- Northeast Senior Center - 4135 Thousand Oaks, 78233
- Gilbert Garza Community Center - 1450 Mira Vista, 78228
- Miller’s Pond Community Center - 6175 Old Pearsall, 78242
- Copernicus Community Center - 5003 Lord Rd, 78220
In addition to the overnight resilience hubs, the following locations have extended their warming center hours on the MLK holiday and will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Bazan Branch Library, 2200 W. Commerce St.
- Central Library, 600 Soledad St.
- Cody Branch Library, 11441 Vance Jackson Rd.
- Cortez Branch Library , 2803 Hunter Blvd.
- Dawson Community Center , 2500 E. Commerce St.
- Encino Branch Library, 2515 E. Evans Rd.
- Guerra Branch Library, 7978 W. Military Dr.
- Hamilton Community Center, 10700 Nacogdoches Rd.
- Maverick Branch Library, 8700 Mystic Park
- Miller’s Pond Community Center, 6075 Old Pearsall Rd.
- Mission Branch Library, 3134 Roosevelt Ave.
- Schaefer Branch Library, 6322 US Hwy 87 E
- Semmes Branch Library, 15060 Judson Rd.
- Ward Community Center, 435 E. Sunshine Dr.
VIA will be offering passengers fare-free rides to or from any of these locations through VIA bus services or VIA Link. Riders need to let the bus driver know when they’re boarding that they want to go to one of the above centers.
The City of San Antonio’s Department of Human Services is working with community partners to open additional temporary overnight shelters for those experiencing homelessness. Those locations are:

- Communities under the Bridge (CUB) - 724 Chestnut St.
- Corazon SA - 504 Ave E, 78215
- Haven for Hope - 1 Haven for Hope Way, 78207
- Sold Out Believers Church - 1139 Gembler (everyone) & 1802 Guadalupe (female only)
