Murder trial begins Tuesday for man accused of killing neighbor on Christmas 2021

SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of fatally shooting his neighbor on Christmas Day three years ago will face trial on Tuesday.

Mason Lubitz is charged with the murder of Trevon James Beeman, 24.

Authorities allege the two had an ongoing dispute that ended with Beeman being shot twice on Dec. 25, 2021.

Lubitz was arrested and charged the same day.

According to police, both the victim and the alleged shooter were inside the same apartment at the time of the shooting.

This case marks the first murder trial of 2025.

If convicted, Lubitz faces a potential life sentence.
