SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Office of the City Clerk will host a candidate application day on Wednesday for residents interested in running for mayor or city council.
The upcoming city election is scheduled for May 3.

City officials said applications can be filed at San Antonio City Hall from Jan. 15 until Feb. 14.
The Office of the City Clerk is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hours will be extended to 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Jan. 15 and Feb. 14, the first and last days of the application period.
To apply, candidates must meet several qualifications. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and registered voters in San Antonio.
Additional requirements include living in San Antonio continuously for at least one year and residing in the city council district they hope to represent for at least six months.
