SAN ANTONIO – Officials said multiple Bexar County fire departments responded to a house fire caused by a space heater that lit a couch on fire.
The fire was reported just after 10 p.m. Saturday in the 6900 block of Sunriver Drive, which is near Converse.
According to Bexar County Emergency Services District No. 10, its crews were called to assist the Converse Fire Department at the home.
When they arrived, Bexar County fire officials said they found the fire on a couch inside the home and quickly extinguished the flames before they had any chance to spread.
Investigators determined that the fire was caused by a space heater placed too close to a couch.
Other agencies who responded include crews from Joint Base San Antonio, Live Oak and Universal City.
No injuries were reported, authorities said.
