SAN ANTONIO – In late December, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced recalls for thousands of Ford electric trucks due to an increased crash risk.
Ford Motor Company is recalling 11,922 of their 2023-2024 F-150 Lightining BEV vehicles because of a suspension issue, according to an NHTSA statement.

The increased crashing risk, the NHTSA said, is due to a front upper control arm ball joint nut not being tightened properly.
This could cause it to detach from the knuckle assembly, resulting in loss of vehicle steering and control.
Users are urged to contact Ford’s customer service number at 1-866-436-7332.
According to the NHTSA, Ford is going to have dealers inspect the affected joint nut and replace it and/or the knuckle assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters are also expected to be mailed on Feb. 3, 2025.
Ford’s number for this recall is 24S76.
