Children playing with matches start East Side house fire, SAFD says

SAFD: No injuries were reported

SAN ANTONIO – Children playing with matches are believed to have started a fire at an East Side home, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

The fire was reported before 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Clark Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive.

Firefighters said they believe the fire started in the back patio of the house, leading to part of the home’s siding to catch fire.

Fire officials reported that the back exterior of the patio on both the first and second floors sustained heavy damage. The fire was quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported.
