SAN ANTONIO – The only privately owned building in the Historic Main Plaza downtown, once called Casa Reales, is now listed for sale.
The 7,500-square-foot landmark with rich cultural and historical significance was built in 1742 and is surrounded by city-owned properties, according to Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty.

The 282-year-old building is located at 114 East Main Plaza and “played a vital role in San Antonio’s evolution, serving as a courthouse, jail, and municipal house during the 1800s,” a news release about the listing said.
“This property is more than just a building—it’s a cornerstone of San Antonio’s heritage,” said Alan Valadez, a realtor with Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty. “For discerning buyers, it represents the unique opportunity to shape the future while preserving an iconic piece of history.”
The historic building is in the heart of Main Plaza and offers direct access to cultural and commercial hubs, including the River Walk. It also features three levels: a basement, a main floor, and a terrace. It is zoned for commercial and retail purposes.
