Community mourns loss of San Antonio country singer

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio community is mourning the loss of a local country singer.

Chris Saucedo, 49, performed with his band, BIG Country, at several bars and venues across San Antonio near the South Side.

His passing was announced on social media Monday and was shared by family, friends and fans.

Saucedo was most known for singing his country tunes named “Leaving San Antone” and “She Fights Like The Devil.”

Saucedo performed on SA Live in 2018.

To honor Saucedo, local San Antonio spots shared their memories on social media.


BIG Country shared a statement on Facebook.

“We are deeply saddened about the loss of our lead vocalist and bandmate Chris Saucedo. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones in this time of grief. We loved performing on stage with him and will always remember the talent that he graced our community with over the years. His spirit will be greatly missed.

We love you and may you rest in peace.
