200 volunteers repair vandalized historic VFW Post in downtown San Antonio

VFW Post 76 is considered to be oldest VFW post in Texas

SAN ANTONIO – About 200 volunteers teamed up Monday to spruce up a historic VFW Post in downtown San Antonio that was vandalized recently.

USAA, in partnership with the nonprofit The Mission Continues, is participating in Operation Military Salute, a service project aimed at revitalization efforts in 40 cities across the country.

The volunteers installed flooring, fencing, drywall, and painted the VFW Post 76, which vandals sprayed graffiti on the roof and siding panels earlier this month.

The post is considered to be the oldest in Texas.
