The concerns of the growing popularity of e-cigarettes and vaping pens

Use by middle and high school students rose by 24% since Oct. 2021

More kids and teenagers are getting hooked on nicotine. So what’s reason for the spike?

A big reason, health experts say, is due to the growing popularity of e-cigarettes and other vape pens.

According to new data from the Centers for Disease Control, e-cigarette use among middle and high school students rose by about 24% from where it was in October of 2021.

Kids and teens may be turning to vaping as a result of targeted marketing towards younger people.

You’ll often see e-cigarettes and vape pens sold in glossy displays with flavors like bubble gum, jellybeans, and strawberry milkshake.

Experts say parents should question their children about nicotine use and speak with them about the danger of addiction.
