A toasty weekend and an update on next week’s rain chances

STILL HOT THROUGH THE WEEKEND

Tired of the heat yet? Unfortunately, we won’t get any relief this weekend. Temperatures today through at least Monday will hold steady in the mid to upper-90s. We continue to top the list as the hottest September on record in San Antonio.

SUNDAY EVENING STORM

As our heat high shifts into Mexico, a few storms may show up late Sunday in the Hill Country. It’s possible a few of these could drift toward San Antonio. Rain chances sit at 20% Sunday evening.

NEXT WEEK

Next week remains complicated. A storm system will swing toward Texas by midweek, however, the models have slowed the timing a bit. It is forecast to pull up moisture from what will be left of Hurricane Polo into Texas. Rain chances show up in the forecast Wednesday and Thursday, however, as we’ve been saying -- this is not a slam dunk forecast. A front will near the area on Wednesday. Slightly cooler weather is expected for Wednesday and Thursday.
