The Mission Espada was established in 1690 and is the southern-most mission of the 4 missions of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park (Mission Concepcion, Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan Capistrano and Mission Espada). About Arbol de la Vida: Memorias Y Voces de la Tierra FundingThe sculpture was commissioned by the San Antonio River Foundation. Additional funding for the sculpture project came from the San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture and the San Antonio Parks & Recreation Department.
San Antonio Missions reunite with Padres, sign 10-year development license
SAN ANTONIO โ Double-A baseball is returning to the San Antonio area courtesy of a familiar franchise. On Thursday afternoon, the San Antonio Missions announced via press release that they have signed a โprofessional development license (PDL) with San Diego Padresโ and will operate as their Minor League Affiliate for the upcoming season. โWe are excited to come to an agreement with the San Diego Padres,โ Missions President Burl Yarbrough said in the press release. We look to continue that success with San Diego for many years to come. We are thrilled to have professional baseball back in San Antonio for the 2021 season.โโWeโre thrilled to continue our established relationship with San Antonio,โ explained Padres Senior Director of Player Development Sam Geaney.

Hello baseball! Flying Chanclas Return In Less Than Three Weeks
Now, baseball is returning to Wolff Stadium as Major League Baseball owners and players continue to fight on when and how to begin the 2020 season. Say hello to the Texas Collegiate League, a wooden bat league made up of college sophomore, junior and senior baseball players, many who didnโt get to compete this spring due to COVID-19. That meanโs we could see baseball players from UTSA, UIW, etc. Below you will find a few of the new procedures put in place at Wolff Stadium. There will be new social distancing rules in place at Wolff Stadium as baseball resumes later in June.
