Max Dutton joined KSAT12 in August of 2026. He anchors GMSA Weekends and reports for the Nightbeat. He's a born-and-raised Kansan, but he's ready to immerse himself in the San Antonio culture.
Before moving to Texas, Max spent nearly 4 years anchoring weekday mornings at the CBS affiliate in Wichita, Kansas. During his time in Wichita, Max covered major breaking news stories including the deadly AA Flight 5342 crash, Chiefs Super Bowl Parade mass shooting, and countless tornadoes. His coverage of the Chiefs Parade mass shooting was seen across the world at CBS stations and on BBC News. Additionally, his morning team was awarded the top morning newscast in Wichita 4 years in a row by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. Before his time in Wichita, Max spent a year reporting at the NBC affiliate in Topeka, Kansas. Max is a proud graduate of Baker University. BTID!
When he's not at the scene of breaking news or at the anchor desk, Max can be seen on stage, singing! He's a professional singer and actor with a focus on musical theatre. Just days before moving to Texas, Max took on the role of Corny Collins, alongside Broadway actors in the musical Hairspray. Other professional shows he's been in include Legally Blonde, Carousel, Urinetown, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Sweeney Todd. He's hoping to build on his love for singing and acting here in San Antonio! In addition to performing, Max is an avid golfer! He's excited to check out all of the local courses.
