SAN ANTONIO – A victim is safe and a suspect is in custody after a Northwest Side “barricade” incident on Saturday, the San Antonio Police Department said.
According to a spokesperson, police received a disturbance call around 2:30 p.m. Saturday on Cincinnati Avenue, near the intersection of N General McMullen Drive and Culebra Road.
According to a Sunday SAPD preliminary report, the victim, a 43-year-old man, was able to exit the residence and contacted police. No injuries were reported.
SAPD arrived at the location and attempted to call out the suspect, the report states. Police at the scene said they believe the suspect and the victim are potentially siblings.
The suspect, a 52-year-old man, eventually exited the home hours later after police used a “skid steer,” the spokesperson said, to get him to leave the home.
Police were unable to release the name of the suspect Saturday night.
The suspect will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A warrant was out for the suspect’s arrest, but the spokesperson could not confirm whether or not the warrant was related to Saturday’s incident or another charge.
The investigation remains ongoing.
