Man arrested after love triangle leads to deadly shooting in northeast Bexar County, affidavit states

Shiateek Wilson, 23, was booked into the Bexar County jail on a $300,000 bond

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A 23-year-old man was arrested for murder in connection with a shooting in northeast Bexar County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Shiateek Wilson was taken into custody by Bexar County sheriff’s deputies after the shooting, which happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 7000 block of Roveen Trail.

A woman and the victim, identified as Noel Denzel Miller, were upstairs in the home, preparing for a shower.

An arrest affidavit said that Miller went to get some sweats from the laundry room and intended to join the woman in the shower later.

The woman told deputies that she heard four gunshots while she was inside the shower. According to the affidavit, she said that she ran out of the bathroom and into her son’s bedroom, where she found Miller on the bed with gunshot wounds.

The woman also said that she saw her ex-boyfriend, Wilson, standing in the bedroom doorway with a handgun, the affidavit states.

The woman told investigators that Wilson took her cellphone and withheld it from her as she begged to call first responders, the arrest affidavit said.

Wilson then returned the phone to the woman while still armed with the gun, according to the arrest documents.

The woman also told deputies that Wilson allegedly said not to “tell on him” before leaving on foot in the direction of his friend’s home, about a mile from where the shooting happened, the affidavit stated.

The woman added that she wasn’t sure how Wilson got into her home. She said that Wilson had texted her that he would be at his mother’s house earlier that night, according to the affidavit.

Later in the day, court documents state that BCSO deputies went to a home in northeast Bexar County, where they found Wilson. The affidavit said he was detained without incident and taken to BCSO headquarters for questioning.

Wilson allegedly told deputies that the woman had dropped him off to meet his mother earlier and planned to spend the night at his mother’s home. While he was there, the affidavit said that Wilson asked his uncle to drive him to the woman’s home.

The woman wasn’t home yet, and Wilson decided to wait for her and hid inside her daughter’s closet, where he drank an alcoholic beverage and watched social media videos, the arrest affidavit said.

Wilson informed deputies that he chose to hide in the closet because it allowed him to see when the woman was getting home. According to court documents, he said he planned to surprise the woman with flowers, money and cocaine, but he fell asleep.

The affidavit said Wilson eventually woke up and heard a man’s voice, whom he recognized as Miller, entering the house.

Wilson realized that Miller and the woman were going to shower together. The affidavit states that he exited the closet and encountered Miller.

According to the affidavit, Wilson tried to leave without being seen, but he ran into Miller when he walked into the room.

Wilson also told deputies that Miller backed out of the room with a gun pointed at him, the affidavit said. Wilson added that he then drew his own gun and pointed it at Miller before firing multiple rounds, according to the affidavit.

Wilson said he was scared after the shooting and confirmed that he had taken and then returned the woman’s cellphone. According to court documents, he allegedly jumped several fences after leaving the home, dropping his phone, discarding the flowers and throwing the firearm as he ran.

The affidavit states that Wilson told deputies he only fired his weapon in self-defense because Miller was pointing a gun at him.

Wilson was later booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on a $300,000 bond, according to court records.
