According to SAFD, a man was smoking in bed in a room located in the back of the home when a mattress caught fire.

Crews arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the fire, which was relegated to the one bedroom.

Fire crews said the home is not considered a total loss.

An SAFD official said the man was rescued from the home.
