Man taken to hospital in critical condition following West Side shooting, investigators say

According to SAPD, the victim was shot in the abdomen

San Antonio police said a man was shot and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition after a shooting on Saturday night. (KSAT)

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police said a man was shot and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition after a shooting on Saturday night.

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call just after 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Oriental Avenue.

When the officers arrived, SAPD said they found the victim, a 34-year-old man, with an apparent gunshot wound in the abdomen.

The officers asked the man what happened before the shooting but all he could tell them was that he had been shot, police said.

When KSAT arrived at the scene just before 10 p.m. Saturday, officers were seen interviewing neighbors near the location of the shooting. At that time, officers told KSAT they found no victim.

Authorities said first responders transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators said what led up to the shooting or who the suspect(s) could be is unclear at this time.
