Shooting on East Side leaves teen dead, another injured by stray bullet, police say

Victim was found dead on a street, according to San Antonio police

SAN ANTONIO – An investigation is underway after a 17-year-old teenage boy was found fatally shot on the East Side, according to San Antonio police.

Officers responded to the shooting just before 9:30 p.m. on Monday at the 2000 block of Schley Ave. However, police said they initially received several addresses for shots fired.

SAPD said the teen was already dead when they arrived on the scene, according to a preliminary report from SAPD.

Two other people also had gunshot wounds: a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old man as well.

Further investigations revealed two of the shooting victims were in the area to meet up with the suspects for a transaction of some kind. The suspects began shooting at the victims, the report said.

The third shooting victim involved was not part of the transaction and was a bystander who was shot.

At this time, there is not information on who the shooters are or where they are at.

This is a developing story. The story will be updated as more information becomes available.
