SAN ANTONIO – Black Restaurant Week is underway across San Antonio and the event is getting an assist from the Tim Duncan Foundation. The foundation and the San Antonio Spurs official nonprofit, Spurs Give, are partnering with the San Antonio Food Bank to feed those in need. More than 30 San Antonio restaurants, food trucks and vendors are taking part in Black Restaurant Week which runs through Sunday, Feb. 28. Trade questions involving veterans DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge were rampant prior to the draft, but San Antonio did not complete any deals. SAN ANTONIO – Five-time NBA Champion Tim Duncan will not return to the sidelines as a Spurs full-time assistant coach this season. According to Spurs officials, Duncan stayed in San Antonio to assist LaMarcus Aldridge in his rehabilitation from shoulder surgery in April. Duncan was the acting head coach for two games last season. He then was named acting head coach prior to a Spurs road game at Charlotte in March. The Spurs missed the playoffs last season for the first time since Duncan was drafted in 1997.

Earlier in this postseason, he also became the all-time leader in playoff road wins. For the first time in NBA history, road teams have a winning record through the first two rounds of the playoffs. The Lakers are 3-0 in the playoffs as the road team so far, which has pushed James total for road playoff wins to 65 two more than Tim Duncan managed in his two decades with San Antonio. Nobody impacts winning more than LeBron James, Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. The difference was the supporting casts, and Rajon Rondos 21 points and nine assists were enormous for the Lakers.

San Antonio will not participate in the NBAs postseason for the first time since 1997. Heres a look at 22 things that were part of our culture, politics and sports world the last time the Spurs missed the playoffs. Medina was first arrested Monday in the alleged theft of the basketball shoes on May 14 at Miracle Mattress. Affidavit: Man stole autographed Tim Duncan shoes from mattress store, put them on OfferUp the next dayDistrict police went to a pawn shop the following day and the manager said a man tried to sell “numerous” graphing calculators, the affidavit states. Surveillance footage captured him taking the autographed shoes, worth $7,500, from a display case and running out the back door, the affidavit states. The following day, the man put the shoes up for sale in the online marketplace OfferUp, investigators said.
