San Antonio's culinary landscape is already seeing significant changes in 2025, as several beloved restaurants have shuttered their doors within the first two weeks of the year.
City Hall and most municipal offices in San Antonio will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24, 2023 to observe the Thanksgiving holiday.
A portion of Highway 90 on the Southwest Side and Wurzbach Parkway on the Northeast Side will have intermittent closures this weekend due to transmission line work.
All Bexar County parks will be closed Saturday and Sunday due to the potential for flash flooding, county officials announced on Friday.

The scheduled closures are part of the the department’s I-10 expansion project. The closures will allow crews to install digital message boards. The closures will begin on Tuesday and end by early Thursday, according to a news release from the department. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area until the roads are open again.

SAN ANTONIO – The COVID-19 Community Response Coalition (CRC) on Tuesday offered Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff recommendations for bars if the community positivity rate is equal to or exceeds 10% for two consecutive weeks. San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg reported Monday that the area’s positivity rate increased 1% percent since last week and is now at 9.4%. If the positivity rate continues to increase at that pace, bars could be closed again as early as the first week of December. The county says there are currently 2,009 bars and restaurants with alcohol permits that are allowed to open under Texas Gov. The CRC says since the county is already close to reaching a 10% community positivity rate, taking action sooner would slow down the spread.

Dr. Cherises Rohar-Allegrini, an epidemiologist, is a mother of two and was recently appointed to San Antonio’s Health Transition team. Rohar-Allegrini said she wasn’t surprised students won’t be returning for to school. She and her husband work from home, where her two children will also finish up the school year. However, she said she is grateful San Antonio Independent School District provided students with resources. The disease first appeared in late 2019 in Wuhan, China, but spread around the world in early 2020, causing the World Health Organization to declare a pandemic in March.
