According to the American Heart Association, one out of three women will die of cardiovascular disease. And, doctors say being aware and proactive with our own health can help when it comes to heart disease.

About half of U.S. adults have high blood pressure and too few have it under control.

A local family is sharing the story of their child’s congenital heart disease diagnosis as a way to encourage other families to focus on resilience.

With February being American Heart Month, there is a new campaign, “Don’t Die of Doubt”, which emphasizes symptoms of heart attack and stroke, need to access care by calling 9-1-1 even during the COVID-19 pandemic. People can receive safe care for heart attack or stroke symptoms, and other urgent medical needs, in hospitals. When it comes to surviving a heart attack or a stroke, seconds count, and so doubting symptoms, and thereby delaying care, may prove deadly. SAN ANTONIO – Students at John Glenn Elementary School at East Central Independent School District kicked off their big fundraising event for the American Heart Association, Heart Healthy Month, on Tuesday. The American Heart Association is teaching children to help others through the fundraising.
