Brian is an investigative reporter with more than 30 years of experience, known for uncovering corruption, holding government accountable, and elevating stories centered on social justice. He’s worked at newsrooms across Texas, producing investigations that drove public scrutiny and real reform. Some of his memorable stories include spotlighting issues like lavish spending at CPS Energy and corruption within the Housing Authority of Bexar County.
At KXAN, Brian’s investigation into racial profiling by Texas law enforcement earned the duPont-Columbia Award and helped prompt legislative hearings and policy changes. His work has also been recognized with multiple Emmy Awards, Edward R. Murrow Awards, and honors from Investigative Reporter & Editors.
Brian also brings a passion for developing journalists as an Assistant Professor of Practice, Multimedia Journalism at the University of the Incarnate Word here in San Antonio.
