Snooze AM Eatery brought its new fall menu into the studio, and the spread made a strong case for the season. The centerpiece was a pancake flight featuring three dishes: pumpkin pecan pie pancakes topped with housemade caramel and a sweet cream drizzle, a pineapple upside down pancake finished with vanilla cream and whipped cinnamon butter, and a strawberry shortcake pancake dressed with fresh quartered strawberries and mascarpone, topped off with powdered sugar and streusel. The pineapple upside down is an original menu item that has never changed since the restaurant opened.

Beyond the pancakes, the kitchen also debuted a tiramisu-style take on their OMG French Toast, loaded with mascarpone, espresso cream, cocoa powder, and coffee syrup. Two new burritos also joined the menu: a smothered burrito packed with hash browns, eggs, beans, and cheese, drowned in red or green chili (or both, Christmas-style), and a crispy flat-top burrito going the more traditional route.
JUNIOR WARRIORS YOUTH FOOTBALL TEAM
The show’s Rookie Report turns it’s focus to the Junior Warriors, a San Antonio youth football team whose 7-and-under squad won a spring state championship. The program runs about 85 to 90 kids and starts players as young as four and five years old in flag football before they move into tackle. Coaches spoke about the program’s priorities, which go well beyond wins: building confidence, discipline, and work ethic in kids who are still learning what it means to show up and compete. The president of the organization came to the role in January, drawn to it by his own background in the game, including time playing at Warren High School. The segment closed with the team running through their call-and-response chant on camera, the kids delivering it with the kind of noise you would expect from reigning champions.
SOMERSET BULLDOGS SALUTE TO SERVICE GAME
Somerset High School’s cheerleaders and dancers brought their energy ahead of a Friday night home game against Veterans Memorial, framed as a Salute to Service Night honoring veterans, military members, and first responders. The timing carries extra weight this year: the game falls on September 11th, marking 25 years since the 2001 attacks, and the school is dedicating the night specifically to that commemoration. Guests from the Somerset community, including first responders, have been invited to attend. The school is also planning fireworks and light shows as part of the evening’s program. The drumline opened the show, and the cheerleaders had plenty to say about what game nights feel like from the sideline, with one senior describing her final year in the program as bittersweet and very much worth savoring.
