SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg joined the 6 O’Clock News for KSAT Q&A.
He discussed the upcoming closure of the Migrant Resource Center, citing a sharp decline in migrant arrivals as the reason for its implementation no longer being necessary.
Nirenberg also weighed in on tariffs, warning that they could drive up grocery prices and significantly affect San Antonio’s economy, especially when imposed on national allies.
Nirenberg shared his thoughts on Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s State of the State address, agreeing on teacher pay raises and boosting the city’s role in cybersecurity.
The mayor also touched on school vouchers and wrapped up the segment by discussing Project Marvel and plans for the downtown Spurs arena.
