BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – As wildfires continue to burn in California, first responders from 10 Bexar County Emergency Services Districts (ESD) held a news conference Friday to address fire concerns and offer prevention tips.
An ESD is a local government entity that provides emergency services, including fire protection and emergency medical services (EMS), funded by county taxpayers, according to a news release.
In Bexar County, 12 ESDs cover 614 square miles and provide fire and EMS services to residents.
Crews who spent time with first responders in California showed some of their wildland fire equipment and trucks.
Fire chiefs joined them as they shared critical information about how South Texas residents can prepare for wildlife risks.
