BEXAR COUNTY – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in locating three men who robbed an armored truck employee at gunpoint on the Northeast Side.
Deputies responded to the robbery at noon Wednesday in the 7000 block of FM 78 near the Woodlake Crossway shopping mall, BCSO spokesperson Johnny Garcia said.
Once deputies arrived, they found an armored truck employee who was robbed at a bank’s ATM.
The employee told deputies that three masked men approached him from behind while he was loading an ATM. One of them had a gun, and they demanded the money, Garcia said.
The employee complied, and at some point during the robbery, the three men also took his weapon and some items from the ATM. The amount of money stolen is unknown at this time.
The three men fled but deputies later found what they believed to be a getaway car, a silver sedan, down the street from the scene.
Deputies believe they recovered the weapon stolen from the employee. The three men have not been located.
If you have any information related to the robbery, you’re advised to call 210-335-6000.
