SAN ANTONIO – As state officials try to mitigate a summer surge in COVID-19 cases, you can track case counts county by county in Texas.
The Texas Department of State Health Services map only counts cases that are confirmed through a PCR test and not probable cases that include symptomatic people who had a positive antigen test.
Weeks after reopening, cases surged in Texas in June and July, straining hospital resources and resulting in a statewide mask mandate issued by Gov. Greg Abbott.
The numbers below are updated daily, based on local and state government reporting.
