Hope you’ve been enjoying the cooler mornings and sunshine we’ve had on hand this week!
Unfortunately, while those clear skies and dry air have made for a more comfortable feel outside, it also means that we haven’t seen much beneficial rainfall in South Central Texas.

The latest Drought Monitor was released Thursday morning, and while there haven’t been widespread, drastic changes with this week’s update, a sliver of extreme (3/4) to even exceptional (4/4) drought has expanded east of I-35 into portions of Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, and Gonzales counties.
Dry air is forecasted to stay in place at the surface over the next week, meaning no significant rain chances are in the forecast in the coming days.
While we will still find rain at times into the fall and winter months, La Niña conditions are forecasted to continue through the rest of the year.
This will likely lead to overall drier and warmer conditions across the southern United States by the time all is said and done.
We’ll keep eyes on it, and our drought conditions going forward!
