Man, 22, arrested in series of vehicle burglaries in Hays County, deputies say
Jeremy Rasco, 22, is now behind bars after deputies said he was involved in a series of vehicle burglaries in Hays County. HAYS COUNTY, Texas – A 22-year-old Hays County man is now behind bars after deputies said he was involved in a series of vehicle burglaries and had 15 outstanding warrants. Jeremy Rasco was arrested Thursday, Jan. 7, on a search warrant at a motel room in Austin after the Hays County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of vehicle burglaries in the area of Quail Run in San Marcos. Rasco is being held in the Hays County Jail for 24 charges on a $100,000 bond. Hays County deputies seeking assistance after letter for help is left at gas station
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance after a 30-year-old woman went into a gas station and left a note for a clerk, asking them to call 911. Deputies said the woman went into a Valero convenience store at 9435 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley, passed the note to the clerk, and then left. The woman is believed to have left the scene in a white passenger vehicle, deputies said. The woman is described as 5-feet, 5-inches tall with strawberry blonde or faded pink dyed hair, and had tattoos on both arms, deputies said. Woman arrested, charged with trafficking at San Marcos spa, deputies say
SAN MARCOS, Texas – A 41-year-old woman was arrested and charged with trafficking at the Riverbend Spa in San Marcos, according to the Hays County Sherriff’s Office. She’s being held in the Hays County Jail and is charged with trafficking of persons, a second-degree felony. Deputies were first alerted of the alleged trafficking activity at the Riverbend Spa, located at 1904 Old Ranch Road 12, after receiving a complaint for possible illicit activity. The trafficked persons who were found at the spa were paired with the refugee advocates for assistance. Juvenile arrested in connection with woman’s death, arson in Hays County
BUDA, Texas – A juvenile was arrested in connection with an arson and murder of a Buda woman, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said. Officials said the suspect was detained on a “directive to apprehend warrant for murder” and taken to a juvenile detention center. According to HCSO, the body of Janie Rebecca Loredo Zapata, 48, was found at the scene of a fire on May 15 in the 400 block of West Overlook Mountain in Buda. Deputies had responded to the location to assist the Hays County Fire Marshal with the investigation. Pregnant 23-year-old woman from Wimberley missing
WIMBERLEY, Texas The Hays County Sheriffs Office is searching for a missing 23-year-old woman who is seven months pregnant. Evelyn Avendano-Acosta was last seen leaving her home on foot in the 500 block of Wayside Drive at 5 p.m. Wednesday and never returned, officials said. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, an unknown color of shorts and unknown footwear.
