SAN ANTONIO – A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with a high-speed crash on the North Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Officers responded to the crash around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of West Woodlawn Avenue and Ripley Avenue.

According to a preliminary report, a patrol officer noticed the man traveling “erratically” at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop.
An SAPD lieutenant at the scene told KSAT that the man was traveling at speeds that possibly surpassed 100 mph on Broadway before the traffic stop was attempted.
Officers later stopped pursuing the vehicle. However, shortly after, the report said SAPD received multiple calls for the crash.
The man had driven through construction zone barricades and struck a parked vehicle, which then hit a nearby telephone pole, police said.
The collision caused a power outage in the area, officers said.
SAPD said the man suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
At this time, it’s unclear what charges the driver faces, though police said he was taken into custody.
