At the time, police said they were called around 1:20 p.m. to the 4100 block of Willowbrook Drive, where arriving officers found Moreno dead from gunfire.

Police found Allen in the home’s backyard and took him and witnesses into custody for questioning.

Officers said they determined during questioning that Moreno, Allen’s stepfather, was arguing with his significant other when Allen walked into the bedroom they were arguing in and opened fire.

Allen’s trial will take place in the 379th Criminal District Court with presiding Judge Ron Rangel.

If found guilty, Allen faces up to life in prison.
