Job Scams

Recommended Videos

Job hunters, beware. You’re not the only one looking for an opportunity to make money. So are scammers.

A college student shared what happened to her – and in the end, she lost her entire savings and even owed the bank.

You never think it will happen to you – until it does. The Federal Trade Commission says Americans were ripped off for more than $86 million in the second quarter of this year by employment scams.

If an employer asks for any type of payment, hit the brakes. You can check out the student’s story here. She hopes that by sharing, she can help someone else.

Gas Prices Rising Again

The roller-coaster continues with gas prices. OPEC’s decision to cut back is sending prices back up again. Prices were up about 10 cents in the past week.

Usually, we get a big ol’ break in the fall, but it looks like we can expect prices to creep up for now.

Costume Shop Closing After 50 Years

Speaking of creepy things -- Halloween is right around the corner.

As a kid, I loved dressing up in costumes – from Mary Poppins to the always popular 60s’ hippie. I had some great go-go boots.

If you are looking for a professional-looking costume, you might want to check out Starline Costumes on Bandera Road. After some 50 years, they’re closing shop.

Instead of renting out their costumes, they are selling them. I’m guessing you can scare up a great deal.
