Signs will begin showing on Thursday

San Antonio drivers may see electronic messages paying homage to the undefeated UTSA Roadrunners this week.

SAN ANTONIO – Thanks to a Twitter request, Texas Department of Transportation electronic signs along San Antonio highways will pay tribute to the UTSA Roadrunners as the football team remains undefeated this season.

On Friday, a Twitter user posted a photoshopped electronic highway sign that read “Go Roadrunners!! Meep Meep!!!”

The post caught the attention of TxDOT CEO Marc Williams on Tuesday.

The next day, Williams delivered the good news.

“These signs will be big and bright by Thursday night,” Williams wrote.

The UTSA college football team is riding its hottest winning streak ever. The Roadrunners are 10-0 after another conference win last weekend against Southern Miss.

They are one of three undefeated college football teams, along with Georgia and Cincinnati.

The signs will be up in time to wish the Roadrunners good luck before a tough home game this weekend against the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Kickoff is slated for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Alamodome.
